by Cito on Dec.15, 2012, under News, Youtube
In her final days as Commander of the International Space Station, Sunita Williams of NASA recorded an extensive tour of the orbital laboratory and downlinked the video on Nov. 18, just hours before she, cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko and Flight Engineer Aki Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency departed in their Soyuz TMA-05M spacecraft for a landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan. The tour includes scenes of each of the station’s modules and research facilities with a running narrative by Williams of the work that has taken place and which is ongoing aboard the orbital outpost.
NASA’s Curiosity Rover lands on Mars!

NASA’s Curiosity Rover successfully lands on Mars!
Over 8 months, 13 thousand miles per hour, a parachute to slow it to around 1000 mph then retro rockets to slow it even further, then a new tricky “sky crane” maneuver which dropped the rover onto the ground using cables attached to the retro rocket cage, then the cables removing it’s self and the rocket cage flying off to crash safely leaving the largest rover ever built landing safely on Mars, the size of a small car.
Congratulations to NASA and can’t wait to see what Curiosity will bring us.
