NASA’s Curiosity Rover successfully lands on Mars!

Over 8 months, 13 thousand miles per hour, a parachute to slow it to around 1000 mph then retro rockets to slow it even further, then a new tricky “sky crane” maneuver which dropped the rover onto the ground using cables attached to the retro rocket cage, then the cables removing it’s self and the rocket cage flying off to crash safely leaving the largest rover ever built landing safely on Mars, the size of a small car.

Congratulations to NASA and can’t wait to see what Curiosity will bring us.
